What is a Lace Wig?
We understand that it can get really confusing when it comes to Lace Wigs, especially if this is your first time. We are going to make this really simple. We currently offer to types of Lace Wigs; Full Lace Wig and Front Lace Wig, both use different cap constructions.
FULL LACE WIG
Let's start with the Full Lace Wigs. They have lace all round the circumference and each individual hair is carefully hand tied onto a soft mesh cap. The result is a Full Lace Wig that moves freely and naturally. This makes them more versatile to style and this is the main reason many people decide to go for a full lace.
They can be parted anywhere on the lace (even at the back of the head) and can be worn up in a high bun or ponytail. To allow the Lace Wig to be up in a ponytail, it needs to be made secure at the nape of the neck with either hairspray, adhesive or tape.
The lace makes the wig light on the head compared to other wig bases. You can expect a super soft cap that is extremely comfortable to wear because of the construction making them an extremely comfortable fit all day.
At EMBRACE YOUR LACE our Full Lace Wigs and Lace Front Wigs can be worn glueless as they both have an adjustable elastic strap and band to the back, securing the wig.
It’s important to remember that Full Lace Wigs are often thinner than Lace Front Wigs and therefore they tend not to have as much natural volume. Lace Fronts have plenty of natural volume, but can’t be styled in as many ways as Full Lace Wigs can be due to having a different material forming part of the cap.

FRONT LACE WIG
A Front Lace Wig has individual strands of hair hand-tied to the lace section at the front of the cap so they can move freely like natural hair. The rest of the cap is sewn by a machine and is made from a stronger, more durable material.
Front Lace Wigs come with two adjustable straps at the back keeping the wig secure if wearing glueless and can also be attached with adhesive/tapes at the front hairline from ear to ear for a longer hold.
Any excess lace from the front is trimmed down to follow the shape of the natural hairline. Having a natural hairline will give you more confidence.
Front Lace Wigs can be parted anywhere at the front, but as there is no lace at the back, you cannot achieve high pony tails which you can with a Full Lace Wig.
At EMBRACE YOUR LACE our Front Lace Wigs are more light weight and much more comfortable than an ordinary wig. You have more versatility to style it in different ways which also adds to the undetectable nature and natural look and are ideal if you are losing hair at the front.
Because there is no lace at the nape of the neck there is only the wig edge and an adjustable strap at the back keeping the Lace Wig secure, it provides your wig with more volume because more wefts can be added. A volumised wig can be a priority for some people, giving the impression of healthy, blow-dried hair.
